Vitech INSIGHT 2013 Webinar Series

Tommie Liddy and Daniel Spencer, project leads within Aerospace Concepts’ Model Based Systems Engineering Team, recently presented two webinars streamed live at the Vitech INSIGHT 2013 conference.

  • Tommie Liddy presented “A Theatre of Operations: An entertaining problem”, co-authored with Dr David Harvey, Michael Waite and Paul Logan.  This webinar explored capability definition through the eyes of the system user, postulating that effective needs analysis requires complete understanding of the users and how they act as operational performers, their roles, and the organisations to which they belong. This was illustrated through an entertaining, yet rigorous, example to describe in readily understood terms a robust needs analysis methodology that is effective, efficient and compliant with the Australian Defence Architecture Framework.
  • Daniel Spencer presented “Modelling the Management of Systems Engineering Projects”, co-authored with Shaun Wilson. This webinar outlines how a model-based systems engineering approach, using Vitech’s CORE, can be taken to represent the systems engineering management aspects of a project, and how a quality SEMP can be produced from the resulting model. This provides the benefits inherent in the application of MBSE; consistency, traceability, reuse and information sharing.
